Guardian Data Destruction History
Guardian Data Destruction sprung from a simple customer request: could we wipe the hard drives of 300 computers in 5 US locations before packing and shipping the assets to the leasing company? Glenn Laga, Guardian’s founder and chief innovator, put together a mobile IT lab to do the DOD-compliant erasure.
The project was a success, the client was delighted and Glenn had a new business idea.
While continuing with his logistics business, Glenn began the search for a more efficient solution for erasure and shredding of hard drives. With a lifetime of tinkering and invention backing him up, he started testing and designing shredders. A final design, manufactured to fit on a truck, was ready to roll in 2006. Now mobile data destruction started for real in New York.
Guardian’s shredding, erasure, degaussing and pulverization services quickly expanded across the Northeast. By 2012, the operation was NAID AAA Certified and mobilized to dispatch a fleet of onsite data destruction units from major cities across the US and Canada.
Today, Guardian is the vendor of choice for VARs, MSPs and ITADs serving enterprise and Fortune 500 companies. With 23 service hubs in the US and Canada, Guardian Data Destruction is the nation’s largest and most comprehensive single source provider of data destruction services.
